Temporary Closure of Footpath N64/45, Gillingham

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic [Temporary Restrictions] Act 1991. All pedestrians, horses and cycles will be prohibited from proceeding along part of footpath N64/45, Gillingham for an overall distance of approximately 90 metres. The order is needed to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on 25 May 2020 for a period of 26 weeks initially. But it will be extended, with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, whilst the construction site is active.
