Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council Proposal to:
Increase the number of places at Linwood School by up to 28 places

This will be achieved through:
- Expansion of an existing school satellite

- Making a temporary expansion a permanent one

 Increase the number of places at Winchelsea School by up to 50 places This will be achieved through:

- Making temporary expansions permanent, accompanied by an expansion of an existing school satellite

- Expansion of the age range of the school to include ages 17-19 and the addition of up to 14 post-16 places.

 A reduction in the Published Admission number for Somerford Primary School from 60 to 30 places, accompanied by a reduction in capacity from 429 places to at least 210 places.

Notice is given in accordance with section 19(1) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 that BCP Council intends to make prescribed alterations to Linwood School, Alma Road, Bournemouth BH9 1AJ; Winchelsea School, Guernsey Road, BH12 4LL; and Somerford Primary School, Draper Road, Christchurch BH23 3AS.
Linwood School is a community special school for children aged 3-19 (Nursery to Year 14) that has permanent capacity, excluding the additional places contained within this notice, of 341 pupil places. It is proposed to increase the number of places to up to 369 school places on a permanent basis, from September 2020.
Winchelsea School is a community special school for children aged 4-16 (Reception to Year 11) that has permanent capacity, excluding the additional places contained within this notice, of 120 pupil places. It is proposed to increase the number of places to up to 170 school places on a permanent basis, from September 2020. All of the places at Linwood and Winchelsea Schools are to be used for Special Educational Needs provision. Somerford Primary school is a community school that currently has a Published Admission Number of 60 school places each year for children aged 4-11 (Reception to Year 6). It is proposed to reduce the Published Admission Number to 30 school places and to reduce the capacity of the school from 429 to at least 210 from September 2021.
