ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
THE A316 GLA ROADS (LOWER RICHMOND ROAD, LOWER MORTLAKE ROAD, TWICKENHAM ROAD, THE AVENUE, CHERTSEY ROAD, GREAT CHERTSEY ROAD, LONDON BOROUGHS OF HOUNSLOW AND RICHMOND UPON THAMES) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC AND STOPPING) ORDER 2020
1. Transport for London hereby gives notice that it has made the above named Traffic Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the purpose specified in paragraph 2. The effect of the Order is summarised in paragraph 3.
2. The purpose of the Order is to enable maintenance works to take place on The A316 GLA Roads Lower Richmond Road, Lower Mortlake Road, Twickenham Road, The Avenue, Chertsey Road and Great Chertsey Road

3. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle from:
(1) Entering, exiting or proceeding westbound on Lower Richmond Road between its junctions with Clifford Avenue and Manor Road;
(2) entering, exiting or proceeding eastbound on Lower Richmond Road between its junctions with Manor Road and Clifford Avenue;
(3) stopping on either carriageway of Lower Richmond Road between its junctions with Clifford Avenue and Manor Road;
(4) entering, exiting or proceeding westbound on Lower Mortlake Road between its Junctions with Manor Circus and Richmond Circus;
(5) entering, exiting, stopping or proceeding eastbound on Lower Mortlake Road between its junctions with Richmond Circus and Manor Circus;
(6) entering, exiting or proceeding westbound on Twickenham Road between its junctions with Richmond Circus and The Avenue;
(7) entering, exiting or proceeding eastbound on Twickenham Road between its junctions with The Avenue and Richmond Circus;
(8) entering, exiting or proceeding westbound on The Avenue between its junctions with Twickenham Road and St Margaret's Road;
(9) entering, exiting or proceeding eastbound on The Avenue between its junctions with St Margaret's Road and Twickenham Road;
(10) entering, exiting or proceeding westbound on Chertsey Road between its junctions with St Margaret's Road and Hospital Bridge Road. The roundabouts at Whitton Road and London Road will remain open;
(11) entering, exiting, stopping or proceeding eastbound on Chertsey Road between its junctions with Hospital Bridge Road and St Margaret's Road;
(12) entering, exiting or proceeding westbound on Great Chertsey Road between its junctions with Hospital Bridge Road and Apex Corner,
(13) entering, exiting or proceeding eastbound on Great Chertsey Road between its junctions with Apex Corner and Hospital Bridge Road;
(14) entering or proceeding in an eastbound direction on Twickenham Road and Great Chertsey Way.
Works shall be phased such that not all restrictions may apply at any one time. Local access will be maintained at all times.
The Order will be effective at certain times from the 5* May 2020 until the 4th November 2021 every night between 9:00 PM and 5:00 AM or when those works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The prohibition will apply only during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.
4. The prohibitions will not apply in respect of:
(1) any vehicle being used for the purposes of those works or for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes;
(2) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a person authorised by Transport for London.
5. At such times as the prohibition is in force an alternative route will be indicated by traffic signs via Hogarth Lane, Ellesmere Road, Cedar Road, Great West Road, Chiswick High Road, Kew Bridge Road, High Street Brentford, London Road, Twickenham Road or reverse and return to normal route of travel. Or via Chertsey Road, London Road, Twickenham Road, London Road, High St Hounslow, Hanworth Road, Hounslow Road or reverse and return to normal route of travel
