that the Southend-on-Sea Borough Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The Effect of the order will be to prohibit any vehicle from;-First Phase
1. Proceeding on Thorpe Esplanade from its junction with Thorpe Hall Avenue to MaplinWay

2. Entering or exiting St August ines Avenue at its junction with

Thorpe Esplanade
3.Entering or exiting The Broadway at its junction with Thorpe
Esplanade
This order willalso:-Second Phase

4.Proceeding on Thorpe Hall Avenue from its junction with Thorpe Esplanade to Burges Road
5. Entering & exiting Gloucester Terrace at its junction with

Thorpe Hall Avenue
6. Entering & exiting Thorpe Bay Gardens at its junction with

Thorpe Hall Avenue
7.Banned turns from Burges Road proceeding southbound on
Thorpe Hall Avenue
The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th May 2020 til
5th June 2020 or where appropriate signs are showing and
weather permitting.
The alternative route will be via
First Phase
1. Thorpe Esplanade Closure - Maplin Way, Station Road, Arcacia Drive, Woodgrange Drive, Lifstan Way and vice versa

2. St Augustines Avenue & The Broadway Closure-Thorpe Bay Gardens & Thorpe Hall Avenue

Second Phase
3.Thorpe Hall Avenue closure- Lifstan Way, Woodgrange Drive & Thorpe Hall Avenue and vice versa
4. Gloucester Terrace closure - Burges Terrace & Burges Road (to follow main diversion)

5. Thorpe Bay Gardens closure - Tyrone Road & Burges Road (to follow main diversion)

The Order will come into effect on 11th May 2020 and may
continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been
completed, whichever is the earlier
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce
whilst gas main replacement works take place
Access for emergency vehicles, residents and pedestrians will be
maintained at all times during the closure.
The prohibitions or restrictions will apply only during such
time and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs prescribed
by the TRAFFIC SIGNS REGULATIONS AND GENERAL
