ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDER - LEWES ROAD
1. NOTICE is hereby given that Brighton & Hove City Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order pursuant to powers in Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended

which when it comes into force will have the
following effect-Phase 1
(a) The temporary suspension of the northbound Bus Lane Traffic Order along Lewes Road from a point approx. 80 metres north of the junction of Coombe Road northwards to opposite the junction of Natal Road.

Phase 2 - Resurfacing
(b) The temporary suspension of the northbound Bus Lane Traffic Order along Lewes Road from opposite the junction of Coombe Road northwards to a point

130 metres north of its junction of Natal Road, as and when signed.
(c) The temporary closure of the northbound carriageway of Lewes Road from opposite

the junction with Coombe Road northwards
to a point 130 metres north of its junction of Natal Road, as and when signed.
(d) The temporary suspension of the southbound Bus Lane Order along Lewes Road from a point 130 metres north of its junction with Natal Road southwards to its junction with Coombe Road, as and when signed.

(e) The temporary closure of the southbound carriageway of Lewes Road from a point 130 metres north of its junction with Natal Road southwards to its junction with Coombe Road, as and when signed.

2. The Order is necessary to allow Contractors to install utility apparatus and to resurface the

carriageway as part of the Brighton University Development.
3. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

4. This Order comes into force on the 11 May for

eighteen months or until such sooner time as the works are completed.
