THE A168 TRUNK ROAD (YORK ROAD INTERCHANGE TO ASENBY INTERCHANGE)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the A168 Trunk Road and the A19 Trunk Road, in the District of Hambleton, to enable carriageway resurfacing works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start at 8pm on Wednesday 6 May 2020 for 5 weeks, or until comp eted.
The effect of the Order will be to impose, 24 hours a day, at times during the works, a temporary 50mph speed restriction on the:
(i) A168 southbound carriageway from
800 metres north of the exit slip road at the B1448 Warren Farm Interchange to 800 metres south of the entry slip road at the A167 Topcliffe Interchange, a distance of 4800 metres;
(ii) A168 southbound exit and entry slip roads at Topcliffe Interchange;
(iii) A168 southbound entry slip road at York Road Interchange; and
(iv) A168 southbound exit and entry slip roads at the B1448 Warren Farm Interchange.
It will be necessary to close between 8pm and 6am, at times during the works, the:
(v) A168 southbound carriageway from the exit slip road at the A19 York Road Interchange to the entry slip road at Asenby Interchange, a distance of 8400 metres; and
(vi) above slip roads described in (ii) to (iv). During the closures suitably signed alternative routes will be available.
It will also be necessary, at times during the works, to:
(vii) close between 8pm and 6am the gaps in the A168 central reservation between 820 metres north and 2750 metres north of the A167 Topcliffe Interchange overbridge;
(viii)close 24 hours a day, the laybys adjacent to A19 southbound carriageway between 1920 metres and 910 metres north of the centre point of the A168 York Road Interchange overbridge; and (ix) close 24 hours a day, the laybys adjacent to A168 southbound carriageway between 1550 metres north of the B1448 Warren Farm Interchange overbridge and 150 metres north of Whaites Lane overbridge at Asenby Interchange. Traffic management will be in force 24 hours a day and traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restrictions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles) and prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes). Access will be maintained at all times to premises and property which are accessible from, and only from, the A168.
