Notice of Temporary Traffic Order
Wantage A417, Challow Road
Prohibition of Through Traffic
Date of Order: 27 April 2020 Coming into force: 4 May 2020 This Order is being introduced because of carriageway resurfacing works which are anticipated to be completed on 15 May 2020. This closure will operate between 9.30am & 3.15pm. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the length of A417, Challow Road westwards from Mill Street. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative A-road route for traffic is via the A417 to Faringdon, A420 to Kingston Bagpuize, A415 to Frilford, A338 to Wantage, A417 Mably Way, A417 Denchworth Road, Ham Road and vice versa. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref.T7358/AC)_
Notice of Temporary Traffic Order
East Hanney, A338 Prohibition of Through Traffic Date of Order: 18 May 2020 Coming into force: 26 May 2020 This Order is being introduced because verge and ditch repairs adjacent to 100 metres of the A338 north of Steventon Road which is anticipated to be completed 12 June 2020. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit through traffic using the Frilford to Wantage section of the A338. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.
Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road.
The alternative route for traffic is via Wantage, Faringdon. Frilford and Kingston Bagpuize and vice-versa. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref.T7637/AC)
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -SECTION 14(1) AND (7) Notice of Temporary Traffic Order
Bessels Leigh, A420, Oxford Road 30 mph Speed Limit Date of Order: 11 May 2020
Coming into force: 18 May 2020 This Order is being introduced because of improvements to pavements, installation of pedestrian crossing and improved access works to Parklands Campus development which are anticipated to be completed 28 August 2020. The effect of the Order, for road safety reasons is to temporarily prohibit vehicles exceeding 30 mph from the junction with the A338 roundabout, towards Oxford for approx. 630 metres, to a point east of The Greyhound Public House - in place of the existing 50 mph limit.
The relevant part of the A420Trunk Road (Bessels Leigh School to Cumnor (50Mph speed Limit) Order 2003. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref.T7578/AC)

Notice of Temporary Footpath Closure
LongWittenham, Footpath 287/2/10 (Local name North Field Lane) Date of Order: 27 April 2020 Coming into force: 1 May 2020 This Order is being introduced because of earthworks to facilitate wetland creation project (River of Life II) which is anticipated to take 6 months to complete. The effect of the Order is to close temporarily Footpath No. 287/2/10 southeast of Clifton Hampden (Local name North Field Lane). Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for pedestrian access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of footpath. Appropriate signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. A nearby local diversion route is signed. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 6 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.
