ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDER -Upper Abbey Road, Brighton
1. NOTICE is hereby given that Brighton & Hove City Council have on the 30th March 2020 made an Order pursuant to powers in Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended which has the following effect:-
(a) The temporary suspension of the existing Pay & Display and Permit Holders parking on the East side of Upper Abbey Road from the junction of Whitehawk Hill northwards to the junction of Walpole Road and to substitute this length with Permit Holders only parking.
(b) I) The temporary suspension of the existing disabled bay on the east side of Upper Abbey Road, approximately 16 metres from the junction with Eastern Road, and substitute with a disabled bay - 3 hours no return 1 hour.
II) The temporary suspension of the existing parking bay on the East side of Upper Abbey Road from the existing
disabled bay for a distance of 5 metres and substitute this length with another disabled bay - 3 hours no return 1 hour
(c) The temporary suspension of the existing parking bays on the East side of Upper Abbey Road from the newly instated disabled bay for its entire length, a distance of approximately 33 metres, and to substitute this length with no waiting, Loading or Unloading at any times.
(d) I) The introduction of No Loading or Unloading at any time on the East side of Upper Abbey Road; from the removed parking bays, approximately 33 metres from newly instated disabled bay, to the junction with Whitehall Hill, a distance of approximately 24 metres, and from the junction with Eastern Road to the disabled bays, a distance of approximately 16 metres.
II) The introduction of No Loading or Unloading at any time on the West side of Upper Abbey Road from the junction with Eastern Road to the permit holder only parking bays, a distance of approximately 90 metres.
2. The Order is necessary to allow development construction works to take place.
3. This Order comes into force on 1st April 2020 for eighteen months or until such sooner time as the works are completed.
