CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) and 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 26th day of March 2020 in respect of the location numbered (1) and on the same day in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Act made an Order in respect of each of the locations numbered (2), (3), (4) and (5).
MONKGATE. YORK This Order continues in force The York (Monkgate) (Temporary Traffic Restriction) Order 2020 (original Order) that Order having an expiry date on the 27th day of March 2020. This is necessary to ensure that the traffic signal improvement works being undertaken thereon can be undertaken safely. The effect of the Order is to continue in force the prohibition on vehicles from proceeding and waiting in length of road comprising of Monkgate and Goodramgate, York between its junction with Lord Mayors Walk and Ogleforth (closed road) (ii) vehicles from making a right hand turn from Lord Mayors Walk in to Monkgate and proceeding in the south east bound filter lane on Lord Mayors Walk, York (closed traffic lane) (Hi) vehicles from waiting on the south west side of Lord Mayors Walk, York between points 48 metres and 60 metres south east from the projected centreline of St John Street (restricted road) during the period commencing at 0001 hours on the 28th day of@March 2020 and ending at 2400hrs on the 9th day of April 2020 (works period) or at the end of the works period whichever is the earlier. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(2) EASTERN TERRACE. YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Eastern Terrace, York (closed road) during the period when electricity connection works being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 0001 hrs on the 30th day of March 2020 and ending at 2400hrs on the 3rd day of April 2020 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
131 COLLINGWOOD AVENUE. YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Collingwood Avenue, York (closed road) during the period when waterworks being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 0001 hrs and ending at 2400hrs on the 31 st day of March 2020 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(4) BOOTHAM LEVEL CROSSING. YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding through the Bootham Level Crossing on Wigginton Road, York (closed road) during the period when track maintenance works been undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 2300hrs on the 4th day of April 2020 and ending at 0830hrs on the 5th day of April 2020 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Wigginton Road, Haxby Road, A1237, Wigginton Road and vice versa.
(51 MILLFIELD LANE. NETHER POPPLETON This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding through the Nether Poppleton Level Crossing, Millfield Lane, Nether Poppleton (closed road) during the period when track maintenance works are being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 2230hrs on the 5th day of April 2020 and ending at 0630hrs on the 6th day of April 2020 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. The prohibition on traffic (other than local buses) at the junction of Millfield Lane and Low Poppleton Lane will be suspended during the periods when the prohibition at the crossing is put into effect. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Low Poppleton Lane, A59 Boroughbridge Road, A1237 York Outer Ring Road, Link Road between the A1237 and Millfield Lane and vice versa. The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
