ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -SECTION 14
THE A66(M) MOTORWAY (BLACKWELL SPUR) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the A66(M) Motorway and the A1(M) Motorway, in County Durham and North Yorkshire, to enable electrical wiring replacement works to be carried out in safety. The works are expected to start on Thursday 16 April 2020, the works will take place Monday to Friday between 8pm and 6am, in the weeks commencing 13 April, 20 April and 27 April 2020. However, if necessary, the works will continue between the same times over subsequent nights until completed. The effect of the Order will be to close, at times during the works, the:
(i) the A66(M) westbound carriageway from its junction with Blackwell Spur Roundabout to its merge with the A1(M) southbound carriageway at Junction 57 (Blackwell Spur), a distance of 3058 metres;
(ii) the A66(M) Motorway from its diverge with the A1(M) at Junction 57 to its junction with Blackwell Spur Roundabout, a distance of
3058 metres;
During the closures suitably signed alternative routes will be available at all times. Traffic signs will indicate the extent of the prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes).
