Temporary Closure of Stafford Road (Northbound), Swanage
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding NORTHBOUND along STAFFORD ROAD, SWANAGE, a distance of approximately 150 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 26 March 2020 and will remain in force for 18 months and can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport if necessary; however, it is anticipated thatthe works will be completed by 31 May 2020.
This Order will enable Dorset Highways to facilitate improvement works in Institute Road to ease traffic hold ups within the road works area on High Street.
The alternative route, which will be sign posted is as follows: Manor Road -
Taunton Road.
