ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT
NOTICE OF DETERMINATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 105 B (1) OF THE HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 (AS AMENDED)
The Secretary of State for the Department for Transport gives notice that he has determined that the A259 Guestling Bradshaw Primary School Safety Improvements (8164) is a relevant project within the meaning of section 105A(1) of the Highways Act 1980 (as amended), and is not to be made subject to an Environmental Impact Assessment, in accordance with Part VA of the Highways Act 1980 implementing Directive 85/337/EEC as amended by Directive 97/11/EEC codified by DIRECTIVE 2011/92/EU.
The scheme comprises installation of 10 new signs within the village limits. 8 powered flashing signs warning of a variable speed restriction and 2 unlit repeater signs. The powered signs will flash only at peak school hours during term time. Verge stabalisation and a footpath will be established opposite the school. The existing bus stop will be upgraded to meet DDA regulations. All changes will be made within the Highways Agency boundary in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
