A1089 TRUNK ROAD - NEAR TILBURY TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the A1089 Trunk Road in the and Unitary Authority of Thurrock, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order is to authorise the 24-hour imposition of:
1) a 50 mph speed restriction on the southbound carriageway of the A1089 between the footbridge 1150 metres south of the A1013 overbridge and the tip of the nosing of the entry slip road at Marshfoot Interchange (A126); and

2) a 40 mph speed restriction on:-

a) Asda Roundabout (hereafter referred to as "the roundabout") on the A1089 near Tilbury;

b) the southbound carriageway of the A1089 between the tip of the nosing of the entry slip road at Marshfoot Interchange (A126) and the existing permanent 40mph restriction approximately 40 metres south of the roundabout;

c) the northbound carriageway of the A1089 between the start of the existing permanent national speed limit approximately 40 metres south of the roundabout and its exit from the roundabout;

d) the eastbound carriageway of Thurrock Park Way between the start of the existing permanent national speed limit approximately 40 metres west of the roundabout and the entry to the roundabout;

e) the westbound carriageway of Windrush Road between a point approximately 40 metres east of the roundabout and the entry to the roundabout; and

f) the southbound carriageway of Dock road between the roundabout and the existing permanent 30mph restriction approximately 45 metres south of the roundabout.

These measures are in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake resurfacing, road marking and all associated works. It is expected that the work will last for approximately 1 month starting on or after Wednesday 1st April 2020. The Order will come into force on 30 March 2020 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete.
The temporary speed restrictions will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
