THE M25 MOTORWAY AND A282 TRUNK ROAD TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the M25 Motorway and the A282 Trunk Road in the Counties of Kent and Essex, the London Boroughs of Havering, and the Unitary Authority of Thurrock, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road.
The effect of the Order would be to authorise the overnight closure of:
a) (phased sections of) the clockwise carriageway of the M25 and A282 between Junction 27 (M11 Junction 6) and Junction 2 (A2);

b) (phased sections of) the anti-clockwise carriageway of the M25 and A282 between Junction 3 (M20/A20) and Junction 27 (M11 Junction 6);

c) (phased sections of) the entire circulatory carriageway of the southern roundabout at A282 Junction 1a (A206);

d) all of the roads leading to and from both carriageways of the A282 at Junction 1a (A206);

e) both carriageways of the A206 link road (connecting the north and south roundabouts) at Junction 1a (A206);

f) the link road connecting to the A282 anti-clockwise entry slip road from the northbound carriageway of the link road described in 2. above;

g) the slip roads leading to the anti-clockwise carriageway and from the clockwise carriageway of the A282 at Junction 1B (A225/A296);

h) the northbound and southbound distributor roads connecting the roundabouts at M25/A282 Junction 1b (A296) and Junction 2 (A2);

i) all slip/link roads leading to and from both carriageways of the M25 and A282 at Junction 2 (A2) with the exception of the slip and link roads leading from and the slip road to the London-bound carriageway of the A2; j) the link roads leading to the clockwise carriageway and from the anti-clockwise carriageway of the M25 at Junction 27 (M11 Junction 6);

k) all slip/link roads leading to and from both carriageways of the M25 at Junction 28 (A12);

l) the link road connecting the M25 clockwise exit slip to the northbound carriageway of the A12 at Junction 28 (A12); m) all slip roads leading to and from both carriageways of the M25 at
Junction 29 (A127);

n) all slip roads leading to and from both carriageways of the M25 and
A282 at Junction 30 (A13);

o) the link road connecting the M25 clockwise exit slip road to the eastbound carriageway of the A13 at Junction 30 (A13);

p) the link road connecting to the M25 anti-clockwise entry slip road from the eastbound carriageway of the A13 at Junction 30 (A13); and

q) all slip roads leading to and from both carriageways of the A282 at Junction 31 (A1306).

These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake resurfacing, road-marking, stud and loop replacement, bridge maintenance, carriageway, geotechnical and structural inspections, drainage and all associated work. The works are part of a package extending throughout the M25 area and its environs. It is expected that the work would last for approximately 14 months starting on or after Wednesday 8th April 2020. Specific closures will be advised in advance on the road and Highways England's website. The overnight closures would take place between 21:00 and 07:00 hours (maximum period).
The Order would come into force on 6 April 2020 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete or whichever is sooner.
Traffic affected by the closures would be diverted using other junctions on the M25/A282 and M11, and by using the A12, A13, A102, A104, A127, A128, A225, A226, A296, A406, and East India Dock Road. The diversion in operation would vary according to the closure in force. The temporary closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
