Notice ID:
THE DORSET HEATHLANDS PLANNING FRAMEWORK 2015-2020
Supplementary Planning Document Consultation 7th January - 18th February 2015
Prepared in accordance with the Planning Act and Regulation 13 of the Town & Country Planning (Local Development) (England) Regulations 2012
The Local Authorities of Christchurch and East Dorset, together with Bournemouth, Purbeck, Poole and Dorset County Council have produced for consultation a planning framework for the protection of Dorset's internationally designated heathland. It sets out the detailed approach to the avoidance and mitigation of adverse effects of development on the Dorset Heathlands. Once adopted, it will run to 31 March 2020, and will be used by each of the Local Planning Authorities with responsibility for determining residential planning applications and preparing Local Plans. The document's guiding principle is that there is no net increase in urban pressures on internationally important heathland as a result of additional development.
This consultation will run for a period of 6 weeks from the 7th January until the 18th February 2015.
The consultation document is available to view online at https://www.dorsetforyou.com/387392.
Paper copies are available at local libraries and the main Council Offices in the relevant Local Authority areas.
The Borough of Poole is co-ordinating the consultation arrangements on behalf of the Local Authorities. Any comments on the consultation document should be sent by email to planning@poole.gov.uk with 'Dorset Heathlands Planning Framework Consultation' in the subject box. Alternatively in writing to the Planning Policy & Implementation Manager, Planning & Regeneration, Borough of Poole, Civic Centre, Poole, BH15 2RU.
