THE A66 TRUNK ROAD (LITTLE BURDON ROUNDABOUT TO YARM ROAD INTERCHANGE) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the A66 Trunk Road, in the Boroughs of Darlington and Stockton-on-Tees, to enable environment enhancement works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start at 9.30am on Thursday 12 March 2020 for 2 weeks, or until completed.
The effect of the Order will be, at times during the works, between 9.30am and 3.30pm, to impose a temporary 50mph speed restriction on the A66:
(i) eastbound carriageway from Little Burdon Roundabout to 430 metres east of the exit slip road at Yarm Road Interchange,

a distance of 11174 metres;
(ii) westbound carriageway from 396 metres west of the exit slip road at Yarm Road Interchange to Little Burdon Roundabout, a distance of 11158 metres;

(iii) link road connecting the A66 westbound carriageways at Little Burdon Roundabout;

(iv) westbound entry slip road at Longnewton Interchange;

(v) eastbound and westbound exit and entry slip roads at Elton Interchange; and

(vi) eastbound and westbound exit slip roads at Yarm Road Interchange;

It will also be necessary to close for 24 hours a day, the laybys adjacent to the A66 as described above in (i) and (ii). Traffic management will be in force 24 hours a day and traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restrictions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles) and prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes). The Order comes into force on 11 March 2020 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
