THE A19 TRUNK ROAD AND THE A66 TRUNK ROAD (STOCKTON ROAD INTERCHANGE TO PORTRACK INTERCHANGE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the A19 Trunk Road and the A66 Trunk Road, in the Districts of Middlesbrough and Stockton-on-Tees, to enable bridge joint repair works to be carried out in safety. The works are expected to take place between 9pm on Friday 6 March 2020 and 6am on Monday 9 March 2020 and between the same times over subsequent weekends until completed. The works are expected to start on Friday 6 March 2020. The works will take place Friday to Monday between 9pm and 6am. However, if necessary, the works will continue between the same times over subsequent nights until completed.
The effect of the Order will be to close, at times during the works, the:
(i) A19 northbound carriageway from the northbound exit slip road at the A66 Stockton Road Interchange to the northbound entry slip road at the A1046 Portrack Interchange, a distance of 2470 metres;
(ii) A19 southbound carriageway from the southbound exit slip road at Portrack Interchange to the southbound entry slip road at Stockton Road Interchange,
a distance of 2500 metres;
(iii) the link road connecting the A19 southbound carriageway to the A66 westbound and eastbound carriageways at Stockton Road Interchange;
(iv) the link road connecting the A66 eastbound carriageway to the A19 northbound and southbound carriageways at Stockton Road Interchange;
(v) the link road connecting the A66 westbound carriageway to the A19 northbound carriageway at Stockton Road Interchange;
(vi) the A19 southbound entry and northbound exit slip roads at Portrack Interchange
(vii) the A19 northbound entry slip road at Mandale Interchange; and
(viii) layby adjacent to the A19 southbound carriageway approximately 650 metres north of the exit slip road at Portrack Interchange.
Traffic signs will indicate the extent of the prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance). The Order comes into force on 5 March 2020 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
