THE M40 MOTORWAY (JUNCTIONS 6 TO 10)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
ORDER 2020
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited(a) has made an Order on the M40 Motorway in the Districts of Wycombe in the County of Buckinghamshire and the Districts of South Oxfordshire and Cherwell in the County of Oxfordshire. This is to enable carriageway reconstruction/repair and routine maintenance works to the slip roads and carriageways between Junctions 6 and 10 to be carried out in safety. The works are expected to take place overnight 8pm - 8am between Tuesday 3 March 2020 and Friday 29 May 2020. The works will be carried out in phases using carriageway and slip road closures, hard shoulder running and a temporary mandatory speed restriction. The restrictions and prohibitions will be applied only to the extent that is necessary for works to be undertaken and will apply only during such times and to such extent as will be indicated by traffic signs. The effect of the Order will be to -
1. impose a speed restriction of 50 miles per hour on the M40 -
? northbound carriageway from the entry slip road at J6 to the entry slip road at J10, and
? southbound carriageway from the exit slip road at J10 to the entry slip road at J6.
2. close, in phases, the M40 -
? northbound and southbound carriageways between J6 and J10,
? northbound and southbound Oxford Spurs leading to and from the A40 at J8,
? northbound and southbound exit and entry slip roads at J6, J8A, J9, J10 and
? northbound exit and southbound entry slip road at J7.
During the slip road and Oxford Spur closures, traffic wishing to enter or leave the M40 will be diverted on or off the motorway at the nearest open slip road and return to the original junction via the opposite carriageway in order to continue their journey. For carriageway closures between the entry and exit slip roads at a junction, traffic will be diverted off and back on again via those slip roads. During the main southbound carriageway closure between J8 and J6, traffic will be diverted via the A40 and B4009.
The Order will come into force on 3 March 2020 and continue in force
until 29 May 2020.

RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2020
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited(a) has made an Order on the M40 Motorway in the Districts of Cherwell in the County of Oxfordshire and Stratford on Avon and Warwick in the County of Warwickshire. This is to enable traffic detector loop installation and routine maintenance works between Junctions 10 and 15 to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to take place overnight (8pm - 8am) between 4 March and 30 May 2020. The works will be carried out in phases using carriageway and slip road closures, hard shoulder running and a temporary mandatory speed restriction. The prohibitions will be applied only to the extent that is necessary for particular works to be undertaken and will apply during such times and to such extent as will be indicated by traffic signs.
The effect of the Order will be to -
1. impose a speed restriction of 50 miles per hour on the M40 -
? northbound carriageway from the exit slip road at J10 to the entry slip road at J15, and
? southbound carriageway from the exit slip road at J15 to the entry slip road at J10.
2. close, in phases, the M40 -
? northbound and southbound carriageway, between J10 and J15,
? northbound and southbound entry and exit slip roads at J10, J11,
and J12,
? northbound exit and southbound entry slip roads at J13 and J15,
? northbound entry and southbound exit slip roads at J14, and
? northbound and southbound entry and exit slip roads to and from Warwick Services.

The temporary speed restrictions (which will not apply to emergency service or special forces vehicles), closures (which will not apply to works, winter maintenance, emergency service or traffic officer vehicles) and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
