A303 TRUNK ROAD - NEAR ANDOVER TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the A303 Trunk Road in the County of Hampshire, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order is:-
1) to authorise the overnight closure of;

a) both carriageways of the A303 between Hundred Acre Interchange (A342/A343) and Parkhouse Cross Interchange (A338);

b) the road leading from the eastbound carriageway of the A303 at Hundred Acre

Interchange (A342/A343);
c) the road leading to the westbound carriageway of the A303 at Hundred Acre

Interchange (A342/A343);
d) the roads leading to and from both carriageways of the A303 at Thruxton Village Junction;

e) the roads leading to and from both carriageways of the A303 at Quarley Junction;

f) the road leading to the eastbound carriageway of the A303 at Parkhouse Cross Interchange (A338); and

g) the road leading from the westbound carriageway of the A303 at Parkhouse Cross Interchange (A338); and

h) all the side roads at junction with the carriageways described in a) above; and

2) to authorise the 24-hour closure of all of the lay-bys adjacent to the carriageways described in 1) a) above.

These measures are in the interests of road safety while contractors working on behalf of SSE undertake the replacement of power poles. It is expected that the work will last for approximately 1 night starting on or after Thursday 20th February 2020. The overnight closure will take place between 21:00 and 06:00 (maximum period). The lay-bys will be cleared prior to commencement of the works and re-opened with the road.
The Order will come into force on 18 February 2020 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete.
Through traffic affected by the closures will be diverted using the A338, A3026 and A342 in both directions. Access to properties will be maintained under escort.
The temporary closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
