SOUTHEND-ON-SEA BOROUGH COUNCIL
(ALEXANDRA STREET & HEYGATE AVENUE SOUTHEND-ON-SEA) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ENTRY)
ORDER 2020 ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -SECTION 14(1)
Notice is hereby given that the Southend-on-Sea Borough Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the RoadTraffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order to temporarily close, the lengths of: Alexandra Street from its junction with Clarence Road (except for access to Alexandra Street Car Parks) to its junction with Heygate Avenue; and Heygate Avenue from its junction with Alexandra Street to its junction with Chichester Road.
The closures are scheduled to commence on 28th & 29th January; 3rd, 4th & 5th February and 10th & 11th February from 21.00 Hours to 05.00 Hours the following morning; or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. Whilst the closures are in force, emergency services access and access for buses will be maintained where possible and a diversion route will be signed on site, via Alexandra Street, Runwell Terrace, Cambridge Road, Trinity Avenue, Station Road, Westcliff Avenue, Milton Road, A13 London Road, A13 Queensway & Chichester Road.
The Order will come into effect on 28th January 2020 and continues from the notice which came into effect on 27th January and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
The closure is required as part of a new development adjacent to Heygate Avenue for the positioning of a crane on site.
