(MANS HILL, BURGHFIELD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2020
West Berkshire District Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Mans Hill in Burghfield between its junction with Reading Road and its junction with Goring Lane. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Goring Lane, Hollybush Lane, Reading Road and vice versa.
The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for contractors to fell an unstable tree.
The proposed Order will come into effect on 3rd February 2020. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 9th and 10th March 2020 during the times of 9.30am to 3.30pm each day. The Order shall remain in force for a period of Eighteen months, or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest.
The Order shall not take effect until signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 have been erected.
