Temporary Closure of Coombe Road, Winterbourne Steepleton
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along COOMBE ROAD, WINTERBOURNE STEEPLETON between its junction with the B3159 and Loscombe Plantation. a distance of approximately 260 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which requirethe provision of safe working areas and to minimisethe likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 1 February 2020 and will remain in force for 18 months. however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 10 April 2020. This Order will enable National Grid Company safe access to install 12 ducts acrossthe road and create dropped kerbs (bell mouths) for haul road crossing. Extensive cut and fill operation on the north side of the carriageway to bring haul road to Coombe Road level.
An alternative vehicular route will be signed using; Coombe Road - Portesham Hill -B3157 - A354 - A35 - Steepleton Pounds Road - Coombe Road.
