CROYDON COUNCIL
EXTENSION TO THE CROYDON NORTH CONTROLLED PARKING ZONE IN THE KESTON ROAD AREA The Croydon (On-Street Charged-For Parking Places) (Consolidation) (Amendment No.1) Order 2020 The Croydon (Prohibition and Restriction of Stopping, Loading and Waiting) and (Free Parking Places) (Consolidation) (Amendment No.1) Order 2020
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council on 06 January 2020 made the above Traffic Orders under Sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended and all other enabling powers.
2. The general effect of the Orders will be to extend the Croydon North Controlled Parking Zone Into the roads listed In the Schedule to this Notice as a new "N2" sub-zone:-
(a) introducing 12 hour 'pay by phone/permit' parking bays and yellow line waiting restrictions operating from 8am to 8pm, Mondays to Sundays inclusive, or "at any time" where appropriate;
(b) existing yellow line waiting restrictions and disabled bays will remain;
(c) charges for pay by phone parking in the bays will vary from 50p for 30 minutes to £12 for 12 hours (maximum) Monday to Saturday, with a charge of £1.30 for one hour or £3.30 for the whole day on Sunday. Payments would be made via the RingGo pay by phone system;
(d) residents and businesses in the roads/sections of road specified in the Schedule to this Notice may apply for N2 parking permits via our website

(e) the map-based tiles to the Schedule attached to the above Orders will be amended so as to accurately represent the new parking arrangements as they exist on site.
3. Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on 13 January 2020, and of all associated Orders can be inspected from 9am to 4pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, at the "Access Croydon" Facility, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, CRO 1EA.
4. Copies of the Orders may be obtained from the Parking Design Team, 6th Floor, Zone C, Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon CRO 1EA.
5. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the ground that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made there under have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

SCHEDULE
Proposed extension to the Croydon North Controlled Parking Zone -New N2 sub-zone
Schedule
It is intended to place a raised zebra crossing in the carriageway in accordance with the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999. As a guide this will be between 75mm and 90mm high with an approximate ramp gradient of 1:15 and placed in the following location.
Auckland Road, outside No. 70 - the crossing point will extend from a point approximately 12 metres north-west of its junction with Cypress Road for a distance of 8 metres (including ramps). The zig zag markings will extend approximately 8 metres to the south and 16 metres to the north of the crossing point.

PROPOSED RAISED ZEBRA CROSSINGS
HAYES LANE & HERMITAGE ROAD, KENLEY
Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that they propose to install raised zebra crossings in the above roads as specified in the Schedule to this Notice to provide a safe crossing facility and improve road safety for school children and other pedestrians.
The general effect of the zig-zag markings would be to prohibit all vehicles from stopping on the markings for any reason and to improve road safety by aiding pedestrians to cross safely.
Persons desiring to object to the proposal should send a statement in writing of their objections and grounds thereof to the Order Making Section, Parking Services, Parking Design Team, 6th Floor Zone C, Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, CRO 1 EA or by emailing
quoting the reference PD/CH/K47 by 30 January 2020.

It is intended to place a zebra crossing in the carriageway in the following location.
Portland Road, outside No. 77. The crossing point would extend from a point 12.3 metres north of the northern kerb line of Addison Road for a distance of 2.8 metres. The zig-zag markings would extend for 13 metres north-west and 21 metres south-east of the crossing point.

BOSTON ROAD, CROYDON
TEMPORARY CLOSURE AND SUSPENSION OF PARKING
1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate sewer repairs in the carriageway, they have made an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic and parking in Boston Road, Croydon.
2. Whilst the said works are taking place:-
(a) Boston Road will be closed on outside Nos. 34 to 36 Boston Road.
(b) Parking in the disabled bay outside No. 34 Boston Road will be suspended and waiting and loading restrictions will apply "at any time" within the bay.
3. During the closure traffic will be diverted via Stanley Road and Wortley Road or via Lynton Road, Stanley Grove and Stanley Road. Access will be maintained for residents.
4. The Order will come into operation on 13 January 2020 and it is anticipated that the works will be completed within 12 days, between 8am and 5pm each day. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further works be required.
5. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:
(a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said works;
(b) any vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes;
(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

CLIFFORD ROAD, SOUTH NORWOOD
TEMPORARY CLOSURE
1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate works by Thames Water to install a main clamp in the carriageway, they have made an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic in Clifford Road, South Norwood.
2. Whilst the said works are taking place Clifford Road will be closed between its junctions with Carmichael Road and Merchants Close.
3. During the closure traffic will be diverted via Clifford Road, Stanger Road, Crowther Road and Portland Road, as appropriately signed.
4. The Order will come into operation on 10 January 2020 and it is anticipated that the works will be completed within three days. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further works be required.
5. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:
(a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said works;
(b) any vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes;
(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC
1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate works by Thames Water to repack a valve in the carriageway, they have made an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic in Devonshire Road.
2. Whilst the said works are taking place Devonshire Road will be closed.
3. The Order will come into operation on 10 January 2020 and remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further works be required.
4. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:
(a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said works;
(b) any vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes;
(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.
