CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 2nd day of January 2020 in respect of each of the locations numbered (1) and (2). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the locations numbered (3) and (4).
(11 STONEGATE. YORK This Order prohibits (i) vehicles from proceeding and waiting in the Stonegate, York (closed road) and (ii) vehicles will be prohibited from waiting on the western side Blake Street, York between its junction with St Helen's Square and the northern property boundary line of No. 12 Blake Street and the southern side Duncombe Place between its junction with Low Petergate and the western boundary line of the war memorial (restricted road) during the period when carriageway repaving works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. That period commencing at 0001 hrs on the 6th day of January 2020 and ending at 2400hrs on the 3rd day of April 2020 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, the 'ONE WAY' direction of traffic flow in Low Petergate, York between its junctions with Duncombe Place and Stonegate is suspended during the period of physical closure to allow two-way traffic flow in Low Petergate when the closure is put into effect. No alternative route for diverted vehicles will be available during the works period.
(2) THE GROVE. YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in The Grove, York (closed road) during the period when water connection works being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 0001 hrs on the 7th day of January 2020 and ending at 2400hrs on the 9th day of January 2020 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. No alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(31 EVELYN CRESCENT. YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Evelyn Crescent, York between its junction with Horner Street and a point 22 metres south west of the said junction (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001 hrs on the 13th day of January 2020 and ending at 2400hrs on the 17th day of January 2020 (works period) or at time when water connection works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(41 CARMELITE STREET
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Carmelite Street, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001 hrs on the 14th day of January 2020 and ending at 2400hrs on the 15th day of January 2020 (works period) or at time when nearby building maintenance works being undertaken by crane operation from within the closed road have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. No alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
