Temporary Closure of Astrid Way & Crescent Street, Weymouth
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along ASTRID WAY & CRESCENT STREET, WEYMOUTH. The closures will be in place at [1] Astrid Way, Weymouth, between the junction of The Esplanade and the junction with Crescent Street and [2] Crescent Street, between the junction of Harwick Street and the junction with Astrid Way. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 6th January 2020 and will remain in force for 18 months. however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 14th February 2020. This Order will enable JDT Utilities on behalf of SGN safe access to replace the existing gas main.
An alternative vehicular route will be signed using; Crescent Street - Hardwick Street - Queen Street - Stanley Street.
