A13 TRUNK ROAD - STIFFORD INTERCHANGE TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the A13 Trunk Road in the Unitary Authority of Thurrock, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order is to authorise the alternating overnight closure of:-
i) the road leading from the eastbound carriageway of the A13 at Stifford Interchange (A1012); and

ii) the road leading from the London-bound carriageway of the A13 at Stifford Interchange (A1012).

These measures are in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake the widening of the slip roads at Stifford Interchange and all associated works. It is expected that the work will last for approximately 7 months starting on or after Monday 6th January 2020. The overnight closures will take place between (maximum period) -
Mondays-Thursdays 22:00-05:30
Fridays 23:00-06:00
The Order will come into force on 04 January 2020 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete. Traffic affected by the closure in i) above will be diverted eastbound on the A13 to Orsett Cock (A128) and return. Traffic affected by the closure in ii) above will be diverted westbound on the A13 to Mar Dyke Interchange and return. The temporary closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period. J Downham, an Official of Highways England Co. Ltd.
