(JAMES LANE, BURGHFIELD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2019
West Berkshire District Council has made an Order in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over James Lane in Burghfield between its junction with Hermits Hill and its junction with Goring Lane. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Goring Lane, Hollybush Lane, Reading Road, Hermits Hill and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Thames Water to lay a mains supply to service a new housing development.
The proposed Order will come into effect on 9th December 2019. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 6th January and 24th January 2020. The Order shall remain in force for a period of Eighteen months, or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest. The Order shall not take effect until signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 have been erected.
