A2 TRUNK ROAD -DARTFORD HEATH TEMPORARYTRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the A2 Trunk Road in the County of Kent, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order would be to authorise the overnight closureof:-
a) both carriageways of the A2 between DartfordHeath Interchange (A2018) and Darenth Interchange (M25 Junction 2);

b) the road leading to the coast-bound carriageway of the A2 at DartfordHeath

(A2018);
c) the road leading from the London-bound carriageway of the A2 at DartfordHeath

(A2018);
d) the road leading from the coast-bound carriageway of the A2 to the roundabout at Darenth Interchange (M25 Junction 2);

e) the road leading to the London-bound carriageway of the A2 from the roundabout at Darenth Interchange (M25 Junction 2); and

f) the road connecting to the A2 London-bound entry slip road from the M25 anti-clockwise exit slip road at Darenth Interchange (M25 Junction 2).

These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake bridge structuresurveys and maintenance, and associated highway maintenance. It is expected that the work would last for approximately 7weeks starting on or after Thursday 2nd January 2020. The overnight closures would take place between (maximum periods): Mondays-Thursdays 22:00-05:30 Fridays 23:00-06:00

Saturdays 22:00-06:00

Sundays 22:30 -05:30

The Order would come into force on 31 December 2019 and have amaximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works arecomplete.
Traffic affected by the closures would be diverted using the M25, A225, A2018 and B2174. The temporary closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they areinoperation during the works period.
