CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) and 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 17th day of October 2019 in respect of the location numbered (1) and on the same day in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Act made an Order in respect of each of the locations numbered (2), (3) and (4). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the locations numbered (5) and (6).
(1) COPPERGATE. YORK This Order continues in force The York (Coppergate) (Temporary Traffic Restriction) Order 2019 (original Order) that Order having an expiry date on the 27th day of October 2019. This is necessary to ensure that the nearby property maintenance works being undertaken from scaffolding can be undertaken safely. The effect of the Order is to continue in force the prohibition on vehicles from proceeding in the east bound traffic lane of Coppergate, York (closed traffic lane) during the period commencing at 0001 hours on the 28th day of October 2019 and ending at 2400hrs on the 24th day of November 2019 (works period) or at the end of the works period whichever is the earlier. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(21 CHURCH LANE. HUNTINGTON This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Church Lane, Huntington (closed road) during the period when water works being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 0800hrs on the 22nd day of October 2019 and ending at 2400hrs on the 23rd day of October 2019 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. No alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(3) MURRAYSTREET. YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Murray Street, York (closed road) during the period when water works being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 0800hrs on the 26th day of October 2019 and ending at 2400hrs on the 27th day of October 2019 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(4) EASTERN TERRACE. YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Eastern Terrace, York (closed road) during the period when water works being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 0700hrs on the 28th day of October 2019 and ending at 2400hrs on the 30th day of October 2019 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(51 FOSSBANK. YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding in Fossbank, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 1930hrs on the 4th day of November 2019 and ending at 0500hrs on the 8th day of November 2019 (works period) or at time when carriageway resurfacing and sewer investigation works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(61 SCOTT STREET. YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Scott Street, York between its junction with Southlands road and the projected southern property boundary line of No. 72 Scott Street (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001 hrs and ending at 2400hrs on the 29th day of October 2019 (works period) or at time when water works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
