A34 TRUNK ROAD - NEAR OXFORD TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the A34 Trunk Road in the County of Oxfordshire, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order would be to authorise the phased overnight closure of:-

a) the road leading to the southbound carriageway of the A34 at Botley Interchange (A420);



b) the roads leading to and from the northbound carriageway of the A34 at Wytham Junction; and



c) Wytham Road at junction with the northbound carriageway of the A34.



These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake drainage maintenance and all associated works. It is expected that the work would last for approximately 15 weeks starting on or after Monday 11th November 2019. The overnight closures would take place between 21:00 and 06:00 (maximum period). The Order would come into force on 9 November 2019 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months. Traffic affected by the closure in a) above, scheduled for 11th November to 7th December, would be diverted northbound on the A34 to Peartree Roundabout (A44) and return. Traffic affected by the closures in b) and c) above for the remainder of the period would be diverted using the A34, A44, Godstow Road and Wytham Road in both directions. The temporary closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
