M3 MOTORWAY-JUNCTION 6 TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the M3 Motorway in the County of Hampshire, under Section 14(1)(a) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order would be to authorise the phased overnight closure, at M3 Junction 6 (A339) of:-
1) Sections of the roundabout between its diverge point from the road leading to the London-bound carriageway of the M3 and its merge point with the road leading from the London-bound carriageway of the M3; and
2) the roads leading to and from the coast-bound carriageway of the M3.
These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake drainage maintenance and all associated works. It is expected that the work would last for approximately 4 weeks starting on or after Monday 11th November 2019. The overnight closures would take place between 21:00 and 06:00 (maximum period). The Order would come into force on 9 November 2019 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete. Traffic affected by the closures would be diverted either coast-bound on the M3 to Junction 7 (A30) and return, or London-bound on the M3 to Junction 5 (A287/B3349) and return. The diversion in operation would vary according to the closure in force. The temporary closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
