ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14
THE A64 TRUNK ROAD
(CRAMBECK TO BARTON-LE-WILLOWS)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND
PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways
England Company Limited has made an Order
on the A64 Trunk Road, in the County of North
Yorkshire, to enable permanent safety barrier
works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start on Monday
14 October 2019 for 16 weeks, or until completed,
and will take place between 8am and 5pm.
The effect of the Order will be to impose, at
times during the works, a temporary 40mph
speed restriction on the A64:
(i) eastbound carriageway from its junction 420 metres west of Steelmoor Lane Junction to 10 metres west of Greets House Road, a distance of 5512 metres. and;

(ii) westbound carriageway from 630 metres east of Castle Howard Station Road to 10 metres east of the unnamed road leading to Barton-le-Willows, a distance of 4300 metres

It will be necessary to at times during the works, close the bus stop laybys adjacent to the above mentioned (i) and (ii).

It will be necessary to close, at times during the works, the segregated footway/cycle track adjacent to (i) and (ii)
Traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restriction (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles) and prohibition (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or winter maintenance purposes).
