(NORTH ROAD. DURHAM) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2019
The Council on 24/09/19 made the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14(2) to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding north westerly on North Road for a distance of 20m from the exit of the bus station to enable culvert inspection and manhole construction to be undertaken. Alternative route: Vehicular traffic - via North Road, Neville Street, Crossgate and A690 Alexandra Crescent to North Road roundabout; Buses - will be able to turn right from the bus station and travel via North Road and Millburngate to A690. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 25/09/19 and are anticipated to be completed in 3 days. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
(A688 METAL BRIDGE TO BOWBURN AND INTEGRA) (PROHIBITION OF ENTRY AND PROHIBITION OF RIGHT TURNS) ORDER 2019
The Council on 26/9/2019 made the above Order under Sections 1,2 & 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. Effective from 10/10/2019 this Order will introduce (A) Prohibition of right turns on: (1) from the exit of Bowburn Services westerly to head north on the A688; (2) from the exit of a development site south of Bowburn Services westerly to head north on the A688; (3) southbound on the A688 at the end of the single lane dualling just south of the Bowburn Services access southerly to head west; (4) from the exit of a development site within Integra between the roundabouts northerly to head east; and (5) from the link road within Integra between the roundabouts easterly to head south into a development site and (B) No Entry on the entry lane to Bowburn Servies from the A688 applicable to traffic exiting the services from the east heading west (to prevent incorrect use of the entry lane). Full details can be examined at Bowburn library & County Hall, Durham during normal opening hours or via the Council website. If you believe this Order is invalid because it does not comply with the legal requirements, you can apply to the High Court by 7/11/2019.
