WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL

(LONG LANE, TILEHURST) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2019

West Berkshire District Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Long Lane in Tilehurst between its junction with White Lodge Close and its junction with Pryor Close. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Knowsley Road, A329, and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Thames Water to lay a new service connection. The proposed Order will come into effect on 21st October 2019. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 26th and 27th October 2019. The Order shall remain in force for a period of Eighteen months, or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest. The Order shall not take effect until signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 have been erected
