ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1) Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Prohibition of Through Traffic Date of Order: 15 July 2019
Came into force: 22 July 2019 This Order was introduced because of essential carriageway maintenance works which was planned for a short duration. Further emergency works were required due to sink holes. The work commitment is now extended until 22 November 2019 due to the ongoing sub-ground investigation works and concerns for public safety.
The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the section of Walton Street from the Beaumont Street junction to the Great Clarendon Street junction. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.
Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road.
The alternative route for traffic is via Beaumont Street -Woodstock Road - Farndon Road - Kingston Road - Walton Street and vice versa.
