Notice of Making
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004, has made the Wigan Borough (Decriminalisation of Parking) (Leigh Roads) (Traffic Regulation Consolidation) Order 2004 (Amendment No. 124) Order 2019 which will come into operation on 30th September 2019. The effect of the Order will be to introduce, for an experimental period of eighteen months, no waiting at any time on:
? Ledgard Avenue, Leigh (West) from 226 metres north of its junction with Sale
Way, for a distance of 42 metres in a northerly direction There will be limited exceptions permitting vehicles to wait -To enable people to board or alight; for the purpose of building and similar operations, removing obstructions to traffic, road works and works by statutory undertakers; for local authority, Water Companies and Post Office purposes; if the vehicles are fire service or police vehicles or ambulances, (liveried vehicles) or in connection with a funeral; to take on fuel, water or air at any garage; for the delivery or collection of goods and for loading or unloading; or the avoidance of an accident.
NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN Wigan Borough Council will be considering in due course whether the provisions of the Order should be continued in force indefinitely. Any person may within the period of six months from the coming into force of this Order object to the making of the Order for the purposes of such indefinite continuation. Any such objections to the Order must be made in writing and specify the grounds thereof and must be made to the Assistant Director -Legal, Town Hall, Library Street, Wigan quoting reference RD/LS/SEC/CL48.617 not later than 30th March 2019.
A copy of the Order, the relevant map and a Statement of Reasons for making the Order, may be inspected at Wigan Town Hall, Library Street, Wigan, between 9am and 4:30pm on any day from Monday to Friday. Dated this 26th day of September 2019.
