TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 26th day of September 2019 in respect of each of the locations numbered (1), (2), (3), (4), (5), (6) and (7). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the locations numbered (8), (9), (10) (11), and (12).
(11 JAMES STREET. YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of James Street, York between its junctions with Lawrence Street and Foss Islands Link Road (closed road) during the period when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 1930hrs on the 30th day of September 2019 and ending at 0500hrs on the 5th day of October 2019 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the prohibition on vehicles proceeding and waiting in the closed roads will only be put into effect between 1930hrs and 0500hrs, Monday to Friday during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(2) BISHOPTHORPE ROAD & SCARCROFT ROAD. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in those lengths of (i) Bishopthorpe Road, York between its junctions with Vine Street and Charlton Street; (ii) Scarcroft Road, York between its junctions with Bishopthorpe Road and Nunmill Street (closed road) during the period when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 1900hrs on the 30th day of September 2019 and ending at 0500hrs on the 5th day of October 2019 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the prohibition on vehicles proceeding and waiting in the closed roads will only be put into effect between 1900hrs and 0500hrs, Monday to Friday during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(31 ELMFIELD AVENUE. YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding in the south east bound traffic lane of Elmfield Avenue, York between its junctions with Sefton Avenue and Malton Road (closed traffic lane) during the period when water works to be undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 1900hrs on the 2nd day of October 2019 and ending at 0600hrs on the 3rd day of October 2019 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(4) UNION TERRACE. YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding in the east bound traffic lane of Union Terrace, York (closed traffic lane) and from waiting in the parking bays on the north side of Union Terrace adjacent to No. 49 Clarence Street during the period when nearby telecommunication works being undertaken thereon have been completed that period commencing at 0930hrs and ending at 1530hrs on the 30th day of September 2019 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally a prohibition will be put in place on vehicles making a right hand turn from Clarence Street into Union Terrace and a left hand turn from Clarence Street in to Union Terrace at its most southerly access point. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(5) LOWTHER STREET. YORK This Order prohibits pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in the footpath on the south side of Lowther Street, York between its junctions with Huntington Road and Bowling Green Lane (closed footpath) during the period when footpath resurfacing works being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on the 30th day of September 2019 and ending at 2400hrs on the 11th day of October 2019 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be available during the works period.
(6) GREENGALES LANE & WHELDRAKE LANE. YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of Greengales Lane and Wheldrake Lane, York between its junctions with Broadlands and Elvington Lane (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001 hrs on the 30th day of September 2019 and ending at 0500hrs on the 5th day of October 2019 or on a date when carriageway lining works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. to ensure that the works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the restrictions will only be put into effect between 0001 hrs and 0530hrs for one day during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(7) CORBAN LANE. WIGGINTON This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Corban Lane, Wigginton between its junctions with Sutton Road (B1363) and Moor Lane (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001 hrs on the 30th day of September 2019 and ending at 0500hrs on the 5th day of October 2019 or on a date when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the restrictions will only be put into effect between 0001 hrs and 0530hrs for one day during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(81 HALLFIELD ROAD. YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Hallfield Road, York between its junctions with Little Hallfield Road and Richmond Street (closed road) during a period commencing at 0001 hrs on the 7th day of October 2019 and ending at 2400hrs on 13th day of October 2019 (works period) or at a time when sewer works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(91 HOWARD STREET. YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Howard Street, York (closed road) during a period commencing at 0800hrs on the 7th day of October 2019 and ending at 2000hrs on 8th day of October 2019 (works period) or at a time when new water connection works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. No alternative route for vehicles will be available during the works period.
(10) MARJORIE WAITE COURT. YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Marjorie Waite Court, York (closed road) during a period commencing at 0001 hrs on the 7th day of October 2019 and ending at 2400hrs on 11th day of October 2019 (works period) or at a time when new water connection works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. No alternative route for vehicles will be available during the works period.
(111 TOWTHORPE ROAD. HAXBY This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of Towthorpe Road, Haxby between its junctions with Mallard Way and Old Coppice (closed road) during the period commencing at 0915hrs on the 7th day of October 2019 and ending at 1630hrs on the 11th day of October 2019 (works period) or at time when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(121 THE MOUNT. YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding in the bus lane on the north side of The Mount, York between its junction with Driffield Terrace and the projected north eastern property boundary line on No. 104 The Mount (closed bus lane) and prohibiting vehicles from waiting on the northern side of The Mount, York between the projected north eastern property boundary lines of 116 and 126 The Mount (restricted road) during the period commencing at 0001 hrs on the 7th day of October 2019 and ending at 2400hrs on the 22nd day of November 2019 (works period) or at time when traffic signal improvement works being undertaken nearby have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that prohibition on vehicles waiting in the restricted road will only be put in to effect between Monday 4th November and Friday 22nd November 2019, during the restricted period R2 Residents Permit holders will be eligible to park in Nunnery Lane Car Park. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be available during the works period.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions. 27th September 2019
