ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
ANTI - TERRORISM TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDER -LABOUR PARTY CONFERENCE
1. NOTICE is hereby given that Brighton & Hove City Council have on the 11th September 2019 made an Order pursuant to powers in Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended which has the following effect:-
(a) The closure of Queensbury Mews from its junction with A259 Kings Road northwards for approx. 50m
(b) The suspension of the right hand turn for westbound traffic from A259 Kings Road into Queensbury Mews.
(c) Placement of temporary vehicle restraint system from the junction of Queensbury Mews, southwards on A259 Kings Road, into Cannon Place
(d) Placement of a temporary vehicle restraint system along the east &
west side of Cannon Place, including the closure of the layby.
(e) The suspension of the right hand turn for westbound traffic from
A259 Kings Road into Cannon Place
(f) Placement of temporary vehicle restraint system along the A259 Kings
road in front of the Grand Hotel
(g) The closure of Grand Crescent (A259 Kings Road)
(h) Placement of HVM barge on the footway at the A259 Kings Road at
its junction with Cannon Place
(i) Placement of a temporary vehicle restraint system along the A259 Kings Road in front of the Brighton Centre including the closure of the layby
(j) Closure of the footway at the front of the Brighton Centre and
placement of fencing and turnstile gates
(k) Placement of HVM barges on the footway at the A259 Kings Road at its junction with West Street
(l) Placement of a temporary vehicle restraint system (gate) on the eastern
access ramp at the rear of the Brighton Centre on Russell Road
(m)Closure of the footway at the rear of the Brighton Centre and the
placement of a temporary vehicle restrain system, turnstile, fencing & vehicular gates
(n) Placement of temporary vehicle restraint system on the A259 on the southern side of the carriageway between the pedestrian crossing to
the East of the Brighton Centre, and the pedestrian crossing to the
East of the Hilton Hotel 2.The Order is necessary to allow safety whilst the Labour Party Conference
takes place.
3. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
4.This Order comes into force on 06:00hrs on 8th September until 22:00hrs on Friday 27th September 2019.
