LONDON BOROUGH OF SUTTON
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 AND HIGHWAYS ACT 1980
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Sutton propose to make the following Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended -
(a) The Sutton (Charged-For Parking Places) (Amendment No.*) Order 201*; and
(b) The Sutton (Free Parking Places, Loading Places and Waiting, Loading and Stopping Restrictions) (Amendment No.*) Order 201*.
2. The principal objectives of the Orders are to improve bus accessibility.
3. The general effect of the Orders would be to:-
(a) remove a length of parking bays operating Monday to Saturday inclusive between 8.00am to 6.30pm with a maximum stay of 2 hours (no return within 4 hours) outside Nos. 122 to 124 Church Hill Road to facilitate introduction of a bus cage;
(b) reposition of existing linear limited stay parking bays to diagonal parking bays operating Monday to Saturday inclusive between 8.00am to 6.30pm with a maximum stay of 2 hours (no return within 4 hours) outside:-
(i) Nos. 92 to 98 Church Hill Road; and
(ii) Nos. 91 to 99 Priory Road; and
(c) provide double yellow line 'at any time' waiting restrictions outside:
(i) Nos. 89 to 91 Priory Road; and
(ii) No. 99 Priory Road to adjacent to Sutherland House, 133 Church Hill Road; and
(d) extend single yellow line operating Monday to Saturday inclusive between 8.00am to 6.30pm outside No. 94 Priory Road.
4. NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Sutton proposes, under section 90A of the Highways Act 1980 remove the type of road humps known as "speed cushions" from outside Nos. 100 and 116 Church Hill Road and construct the type of road humps known as "speed cushions" outside No. 104 Church Hill Road.
The proposed Speed Cushions are 2 abreast -1.8 metres wide, 2 metres long and would be an elevated section of carriageway with a flat top, 75 millimetres higher at its highest point than the surrounding carriageway.

5. Copies of the proposed Orders, of the Council's Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Orders (and of the Orders that would be revoked or amended by the proposed Orders) and plans showing the locations and the effects of the proposals may be inspected at the Council's Environment, Housing and Regeneration Offices at 24 Denmark Road, Carshalton between 9 am and 5 pm on Monday to Friday.

7. FURTHER NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Sutton has approved under section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to reduce a length of zig zag marking to an existing "zebra" pedestrian crossing outside Cheam Social Club in Church Hill Road, Cheam,.
Associated zig-zag markings, on which vehicles would be prohibited from stopping and overtaking at all times, would be placed on the carriageway either side of the pedestrian crossing,
extending up to a maximum of 19.1 metres either side of the crossing.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -SECTION 14(1)
The Council of the London Borough of Sutton with the agreement of the London Borough of Merton, and Transport for London hereby gives notice that in order to enable maintenance works to be carried out in a safe and efficient manner in certain roads it intends to make an Order, from 7 October 2019 for a maximum of 12 months but with an anticipated finish date of November 2019.
No person shall cause or permit any vehicle including pedal cycles to proceed or wait including waiting for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or for loading or unloading a vehicle on the sections of affected roads, mentioned in the table below, except for access to land or premises on or adjacent to those lengths of roads.
Any vehicle that is in contravention of temporary waiting restrictions at a time when these restrictions apply will be removed to an alternative location in accordance with the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
It is anticipated that all roads will be closed for a duration of between 1 and 5 days within the road closure notice period; the closure may be on consecutive days, separate days or nighttime works depending upon site, weather conditions and works required. Advanced warning signs for the road closure will be placed on site at least 10 days before the planned commencement of each period of work.
Letters will be distributed in advance of any works in the roads listed in the table below. The letter will give more specific details of the prohibitions and restrictions and will also detail any diversion routes as necessary.
NOTE: the Order will also suspend any, disabled persons parking place, permit parking place, shared use permit/pay and display parking place, footway parking bay or any other free parking place in any of the lengths of roads listed in the table.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -SECTION 14(1)
1. The Council of the London Borough of Sutton hereby gives notice that in order to facilitate gas main replacement works and because these works are being executed on or near the carriageway it intends to make an Order the effect of which is summarised in paragraph 3 below.
2. The Order will come into effect on Monday 7 October 2019, with works expected to take 2 months to complete. However the Order will remain in force for 6 months to be re-introduced should further works be required.
3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are displayed the Order will temporarily
- close Elmwood Close at its junction with London Road; and
- introduce waiting restrictions - 'no waiting at any time' and loading restrictions - 'no loading at any time' (including suspension of parking bays) in
? Elmwood Close;
? Park Road, Hackbridge (on its southern side) between its junctions with London Road and Wandle Road; and
? Wandle Road (on its western side) between its junctions with London Road and Elmwood Close.
4. Alternative routes for vehicular traffic whilst the closures are for in force will be either via:-
- London Road and Wandle Road; and
- London Road, Park Road and Wandle Road.
5. Any vehicle that is in contravention of the temporary waiting & loading restrictions at a time when these restrictions apply will be removed to an alternative location in accordance with the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
6. Vehicles access to properties adjacent to the prohibited length of road will be maintained at all times insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works.
7. The prohibitions specified above apply only during such times and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
