A34 TRUNK ROAD - BULLINGTON TO TOTHILL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the A34 Trunk Road in the County of Hampshire, under Section 14(1)(a)of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order would be to authorise:-
1) the overnight closure of:-

a) both carriageways of the A34 between Bullington Interchange (A303) and Tot Hill Interchange (B4640);

b) all of the slips roads leading to and from the carriageways described in a) above; and

c) all of the side roads at junction with the carriageways described in a) above; and

2) the 24-hour closure of all the lay-bys adjacent to the carriageways described in a) above.

These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake bridge works including joint and bearing maintenance and replacement, waterproofing; drainage works, carriageway maintenance and all associated work.
It is expected that the work would last for
approximately 5 weeks starting on or after
Sunday 29th September 2019. The overnight
closures would take place between 21:00 and
06:00 (maximum period).
The Order would come into force on
27 September 2019 and have a maximum
duration of eighteen months, ceasing when
the works are complete.
Traffic affected by the closures in 1) a-b) would be diverted using the A30, A303, A339, and B6460. Access to properties accessible only from the A34 would be maintained by gated escort. The temporary closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
