THE A66 TRUNK ROAD (MORTON PALMS ROUNDABOUT TO LITTLE
BURDON ROUNDABOUT)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the A66 Trunk Road, in the District of Darlington, to enable resurfacing and road markings works to be carried out in safety. The works are expected to start on Tuesday 1 October 2019 for 3 weeks or until completed.
The effect of the Order will be, between 8pm and 6am, at times during the works, to:
(i) close the A66 carriageway between Morton Palms Roundabout and Little Burdon Roundabout, including Lingfield Point Roundabout, a distance of 3000 metres;
(ii) close the link road connecting the A66 westbound carriageway with the A66 westbound carriageway at Little Burdon Roundabout; and
(iii) ban vehicles from entering and leaving the A66 between Morton Palms Roundabout and Little Burdon Roundabout; including Lingfield Point Roundabout.
During the closures, suitably signed alternative routes will be available at all times.
It will also be necessary to close, for 24 hours a day for the duration of the works, the laybys adjacent to the A66 between Morton Palms Roundabout and Lingfield Point Roundabout.
Traffic management will be in force 24 hours a day and traffic signs will indicate the extent of the prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles, vehicles being used in connection with the said works or winter maintenance purposes). The Order comes into force on 30 September 2019 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
THE A1(M) MOTORwAY (JUNCTION 61 TO JUNCTION 63) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the A1(M) Motorway, in County Durham, to enable bridge painting works to be carried out in safety. The works are expected to start on Monday 30 September 2019 for 2 weeks, or until completed, and will take place between 8pm and 6am. The effect of the Order will be to close, at times during the works, the A1(M) Motorway:
(i) southbound carriageway from the exit slip road at Junction 63 (Blind Lane Interchange) to the entry slip road at Junction 62 (Carrville Interchange), a distance of 10539 metres;
(ii) northbound carriageway from the exit slip road at Junction 61 (Bowburn Interchange) to the entry slip road at Junction 63,
a distance of 17660 metres;
(iii) southbound exit slip road at Junction 62;
(iv) southbound entry slip road at Junction 63;
(v) northbound entry slip road at Junction 61;
(vi) northbound entry and exit slip roads at Junction 62; and
(vii) northbound exit slip road at Junction 63.
Only one carriageway will be closed at any one time and during the closures suitably signed alternative routes will be available at all times. Traffic signs will indicate the extent of the prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes). The Order comes into force on 29 September 2019 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
THE A19 TRUNK ROAD (SOUTH KILVINGTON INTERCHANGE TO OSMOTHERLEY INTERCHANGE) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND
PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the A19 Trunk Road, in the District of Hambleton, to enable carriageway resurfacing, bridge repair and general maintenance works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start at 8pm on Sunday 29 September 2019 for 2 weeks or until completed.
The effect of the Order will be, between 8pm and 6am, at times during the works, to:
(i) close the A19 northbound carriageway from the exit slip road at the A61 South Kilvington Interchange to the entry slip road at the A684 Osmotherley Interchange, a distance of 13300 metres;
(ii) close the A19 northbound exit slip road at Osmotherley Interchange;
(iii) close the A19 northbound entry slip road at South Kilvington Interchange;
(iv) close the A19 northbound entry slip road at Borrowby;
(v) ban traffic from entering or leaving the A19 northbound carriageway at its junctions with Moorhouse Lane, Borrowby, Cotcliffe Bank and Haynes Arms; and
(vi) close the gaps in the central reservation between South Kilvington Interchange and Osmotherley Interchange.
It will also be necessary, for 24 hours a day, at times during the works, to:
(i) impose a temporary 50mph speed restriction on the A19 northbound carriageway from 500 metres south of Borrowby Village Junction to 500 metres north of the entry slip road at Borrowby, a distance of
2500 metres;
(ii) impose a temporary 50mph speed restriction on the A19 northbound carriageway from 600 metres south of the entry slip road at Osmotherley Interchange northwards for a distance of 800 metres; and
(iii) close the laybys adjacent to the A19 northbound carriageway between South Kilvington Interchange and Osmotherley Interchange.
During the closures, suitably signed alternative routes will be available at all times.
Traffic management will be in force 24 hours a day and traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restrictions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles) and prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or winter maintenance purposes). Access will be maintained at all times to premises and property which are accessible from, and only from, the A19. The Order comes into force on 28 September 2019 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
