A23 TRUNK ROAD - NEAR PYECOMBE TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the A23 Trunk Road in the County of West Sussex, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on an adjoining road. The effect of the Order would be to authorise the overnight closure of the slip road leading from the London-bound carriageway of the A23 at Dale Hill Junction (A281). This measure would be in the interests of road safety while contractors working on behalf of West Sussex County Council undertake maintenance work in West Road adjoining the slip road described above. It is expected that the work would last for approximately 3 days starting on or after Monday 23rd September 2019. The overnight closures would take place between 20:00 and 06:00 (maximum period). The Order would come into force on 21 September 2019 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete.
Traffic affected by the closure would be diverted using the B2117and A281. The temporary closure and diversion route would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period. J Downham, an Official of Highways England Co Ltd.
