A1089 TRUNK ROAD - NEAR TILBURY TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the A1089 Trunk Road in the Unitary Authority of Thurrock, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order is to authorise the 24 hour imposition of a mandatory 40mph speed restriction on:
i) the southbound carriageway of the A1089 between points 710 metres south of Marshfoot Road overbridge (A126) and 50 metres south of Asda Roundabout (start of the existing permanent 40mph limit);

ii) the northbound carriageway of the A1089 between points 50 metres south of Asda Roundabout (end of the existing permanent 40mph limit) and 200 metres north of Asda Roundabout; and

iii) the entire circulatory carriageway of Asda Roundabout.

These measures are in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake the widening of Asda Roundabout. It is expected that the work will last for approximately 4 months starting on or after
Monday 9th September 2019.
The Order will come into force on 7 September 2019 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete.
The temporary speed restrictions will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
