Temporary Closure of Barnes Way, Dorchester
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Barnes Way, Dorchester, between Barnes Way and the access road to St Osmonds Middle School/ Manor Park First School, a distance of approximately 95 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which requirethe provision of safe working areas and to minimisethe likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 19 August 2019 and will remain in force for 18 months and can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport if necessary; however, it is anticipated thatthe works will be completed by 30 August 2019. This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out highway improvement works for safer route to Schools.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.
