SECTION 65 - TABLE OF FARES FOR HACKNEY CARRIAGES
Brighton & Hove City Council hereby gives notice in accordance with section 65 of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 that it has made the following revised table of fares for hackney carriages set out below. Changes from the previous fare table are as follows. The initial fare is increased by 20p for tariffs 1 & 2, 30p for tariffs 4, 6, 7, 40p for tariffs 3 & 5, 45p Tariff 9 & 60p for tariffs 8 & 10, and a reduction of the initial yardage from 320 yards to 293yards in all tariffs except 3 & 8 where it will increase from 640 yards to 660 yards. The running cost per mile is increased from £2.20 to £2.40. The fouling charge is increased from £50 to up to £100.

Copies of this notice may be inspected at the Customer Service Centers at, Bartholomew House, Bartholomew Square, Brighton or Hove Town Hall, Norton Road, Hove, during normal hours for a period of fourteen days from the date of this publication of this notice. During that period any person aggrieved by the variation may object in writing to the undersigned at the address shown. If no objections are received, or if all objections received are withdrawn, the table of fares as varied shall come into operation on the date of the expiration of that fourteen day period or the date of withdrawal of the objection or, if more than one,
of the last objection, whichever date is the later. If objections are received and not withdrawn the council
will set a date, not later than two months after the first specified date on which the table of fares shall come into force with or without modifications as decided by them after consideration of IJjjjjjJM
