M1 MOTORWAY (JUNCTIONS 6TO5) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the M1 Motorway in the County of Hertfordshire, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order would be to authorise the phased overnight closureofthe southbound carriageway of the M1 between Junction 6and Junction 5, and all slip roads leading to and from this length of carriageway These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake carriageway works, bridge works, surveys and inspections, barrier works, trials and monitoring, highways maintenance works and all associated works.
The work forms part of aprogramme of work that would last for approximately 18 months starting on or after Monday 12th August 2019. The overnight closures would take place between (maximum period):
Monday-Thursdays 22:00-05:30
Fridays 23:00-06:00
Saturdays 22:00-06:00
Sundays 22:30-05:30

The Order would come into force on 10th August 2019 and have amaximum duration of eighteen months. Traffic affected by the closures would be diverted using the A405 and A41. The temporary closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they areinoperation during the works period.
