THE A66 TRUNK ROAD (YARM ROAD INTERCHANGE) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the A66 Trunk Road, in the District of Stockton-on-Tees, to enable local authority works, signing and lining works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start on Sunday 11 August 2019 for 6 weeks, or until completed. The effect of the Order will be, at times during the works, between 8pm and 6am, to impose a temporary:
(i) 50mph speed restriction on the A66 eastbound carriageway from 1380 metres west of the exit slip road at Yarm Road Interchange eastwards for a distance of 1620 metres;
(ii) 50mph speed restriction on the A66 westbound carriageway from 121 metres west of the exit slip road at Yarm Road Interchange westwards for a distance of 950 metres;
(iii) 50mph speed restriction on the A66 eastbound exit and westbound entry slip roads at Yarm Road Interchange;
(iv) 30mph speed restriction on the A66 eastbound carriageway from 1380 metres west of the exit slip road at Yarm Road Interchange eastwards for a distance
of 2410 metres;
(v) 30mph speed restriction on the A66 westbound carriageway from 795 metres east of the exit slip road at Yarm Road Interchange westwards for a distance
of 1845 metres; and
(vi) 30mph speed restriction on the A66 eastbound and westbound entry and exit slip roads at Yarm Road Interchange.
It will be necessary, at times during the works, between 8pm and 6am, to close the eastbound and westbound entry and exit slip roads at Yarm Road Interchange. It will also be necessary, for 24 hours a day during the works, to close the laybys adjacent
to the A66:
(i) westbound carriageway approximately 640 metres east of the exit slip road at Yarm Road Interchange;
(ii) eastbound carriageway approximately 1300 metres west of the exit slip road at Yarm Road Interchange; and
(iii) eastbound carriageway approximately 490 metres east of the entry slip road at Yarm Road Interchange.
Traffic management will be in force 24 hours a day and traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restrictions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles) and prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes). The Order comes into force on 10 August 2019 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
