SPECIAL EVENTS - SECTION 16A (As Amended by Road Traffic (Temporary

Restrictions) Act 1991) PARISHES OF ALWINTON, HARBOTTLE, HEPPLE, OTTERBURN AND ROCHESTER (TYNESIDE STAGES RALLY EVENT ORDER 2019)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which is to temporarily close the lengths of public rights of way below with the exception of:

a. any vehicles officially involved in the Tyneside Stages Rally Event 2019; or



b. Any vehicle being used for ambulance, police or fire brigade purposes or the purposes of an undertaker in an emergency such as the loss of supplies of gas electricity or water to premises in the area; or



c. Anything done with the permission or under the direction of a police constable in uniform, traffic warden or a civil enforcement officer.



Schedule of Closures:

a) Parish of Alwinton Public Bridleways Nos 23, 39 & 44.



b) Parish of Harbottle Public Bridleway No 8.



c) Parish of Hepple Public Bridleway Nos 15, 20 and Restricted Byway No 32.



d) Parish of Otterburn Public Footpath No 44 and Public Bridleways Nos 1, 2 & 3.



e) Parish of Rochester Public Bridleways Nos 6, 7, 8, 26, 27 & 28 and Restricted Byway No 58.



The above public rights of way will be closed:

From a point north of Thirl Moor via Featherwood, Bushman's Crag, Cocklaw Green and Davysheil to a point at Leighton Hill.

From a point at Cottonshopeburnfoot to a point east of Cottonshope.

From a point at Cocklaw Green to a point north of North Yardhope

From a point on Holystone Common to a point at High Carrick.

From a point south of Cocklaw Green via Stewart Shiels to a point east of Stewart Shiels.

The Order is to be effective on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th August 2019.

The closures have been requested in the interests of public safety due to facilitate the Tyneside Stages Rally Event.

There are no alternative routes available.
