M25 MOTORWAY (JUNCTIONS 19 -21A) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the M25 Motorway in the County of Hertfordshire, under Section 14(1)(a)of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order would be, in alternate phases, to:-
1. authorise the overnight closure of both carriageways of the M25 between Junction 19 (A41) and Junction 21A (A405), and all slip roads leading to and from this length of carriageway.
2. impose an overnight 50 mph speed limit on -
(a) the clockwise carriageway of the M25 between apoint 270 metres east of Chandlers Lane overbridge and apoint 310 metres south of Old House Lane overbridge;
(b) the anti-clockwise carriageway of the M25 between apoint 1000 metres east of Bedmond Road overbridge and a point 300 metres east of Bedmond Road overbridge; and
(c) the slip road leading from the clockwise carriageway of the M25 at Junction 19.
3. impose an overnight 40 mph speed limit on -
(a) theclockwise carriageway of the M25 between apoint 310metres south of Old House Lane overbridge and apoint 300 metres west of Egg Farm Lane overbridge;
(b) theanti-clockwise carriageway of the M25 between apoint 300 metres east of Bedmond Road overbridge and a point 40 metres south of the Junction 20 northernunderbridge; and
(c) all slip roads leading to and from these lengths of carriageway
These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake Gade Valley Viaduct repairs and maintenance, resurfacing works, joint replacement, bridge maintenance, carriageway and structural inspections, routine maintenance activities, and all associated works. It is expected that the work would last for approximately 18 months starting on or after Sunday 28th July 2019. The overnight closures would take place between (maximum period):
Monday-Thursdays 22:00-05:30
Fridays 22:00-06:00
Saturdays 21:00 -08:00
Sundays 22:30 -05:30
The Order would come into force on 28th July 2019 and have amaximum duration of eighteen months.
Traffic affected by the closures would be diverted using the M1, A41, A405 and A414. The diversion route would vary depending on the closureinplace.
The temporary speed limits, closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they areinoperation during the works period.
