TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 30th day of May 2019 in respect of each of the locations numbered (1), (2) and (3). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the locations numbered (4), (5), (6), (7) and (8).
(11 HIGH PETERGATE. YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in High Petergate, York between its junction with St Leonard's Place and Bootham Bar (closed road) during the period commencing at 0830hrs and ending at 1600hrs on the 5th day of June 2019 or on a date when electricity works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(21 STRENSALL FOOTPATH NO. 4 & NO. 5. STRENSALL This Order prohibits pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in the public footpaths known as Strensall No. 4 & No. 5 (closed footpaths) during the period when footbridge replacement works being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on the 3rd day of June 2019 and ending at 2400hrs on the 31 st day of July 2019 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. No alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(3) YORK ROAD LEVEL CROSSING. HAXBY This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding through the York Road Level Crossing on Haxby Road, Haxby (closed road) during the period when track maintenance works are being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 2300hrs on the 7th day of June 2019 and ending at 0600hrs on the 8th day of June 2019 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(41 BOOTHAM LEVEL CROSSING. YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding through the Bootham Level Crossing on Wigginton Road, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 2300hrs on the 9th day of June 2019 and ending at 0600hrs on the 10th day of June 2019 or at time when track maintenance works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(5) STRENSALL COMMON LEVEL CROSSING. STRENSALL This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding through the Strensall Common Road Level Crossing on Common Road, Strensall (closed road) during the period commencing at 2300hrs on 8th day of June 2019 and ending at 0630hrs on the 13th day of June 2019 or at time when track maintenance works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the restrictions will only be put into effect overnight between 2300hrs on Saturday 8th June 2019 and 0830hrs on Sunday 9th June 2019 and 2330hrs on Wednesday 12th June till 0630hrs
on Thursday 13th June. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(6) THORPE STREET. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Thorpe Street, York between its junction with Scarcrott Road and a point 100 metres south of the said junction (closed road) during the period commencing at 0800hrs on the 10th day of May 2019 and ending at 1800hrs on the 11th day of May 2019 (works period) or at time when water works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(71 VARIOUS ROADS. YORK This Order will prohibit, where necessary, vehicles from proceeding and waiting at any time in the whole or in any length of a road listed in the Schedule below (restricted roads) between such times and on such dates during the validity of the Order as shall be determined by the Council in order to safely and effectively carry out carriageway resurfacing works. Relevant times and dates will be notified in writing to occupiers of premises adjacent to those restricted roads not less than 48 hours before the said prohibition comes into effect in that road. The Order will commence on 11th day of June 2019 and expire on 13th day June 2019 or when all works have been completed whichever is the earlier. An alternative route for diverted traffic for the respective locations will be signed where applicable/appropriate. It is envisaged that the works at each location will be undertaken between the dates listed in the Schedule below and between 9.15am and 3.00pm during the validity of the Order.

(81 GREENGALES LANE & WHELDRAKE LANE
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of Greengales Lane and Wheldrake Lane, York between its junctions with Broadlands and Elvington Lane (closed road) during the period commencing at 0915hrs and ending at 1600hrs on the 17th day of June 2019 (works period) or at time when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the restrictions will only be put into effect between 0915hrs and 1600hrs during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period. The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
